BACKGROUND
Associated gas from the existing offshore fields and Dukhan are being processed in the existing FSP (Fahahil Stripping Plant), NGL-1 (Natural Gas Liquid) and QAPCO (Qatar Petrochemical Company Limited), ERU (Ethane Recovery Units) facilities. These existing facilities have been in operation for more than 40 years and need major revamping and upgrades to ensure safe and reliable operation for the next 30 years. The primary objective of the NGL-5 project is to install a new NGL plant (NGL-5), and associated facilities to replace FSP, NGL-1 and ERUs. The new NGL-5 Plant will be located in the Mesaieed Industrial City.
Early site preparation works (Early works) for the proposed NGL-5 plant are planned to be executed in parallel to the FEED (Front End Engineering Design), to achieve a schedule advantage for this critical Project. A preliminary geotechnical investigation has been performed to establish site characteristics and to support early works.
CONTRACT OBJECTIVE
The objective of the contract is to execute engineering, procurement, and construction of ”Early works” for the proposed NGL-5 Plant complying with the requirements of the contract, and handover the FACILITY to QatarEnergy.
PROJECT SCOPE DESCRIPTION
The items under this contract primarily include, but are not limited to; engineering and detailed design, access roads, fencing and gates, earthworks including excavation, site grading, disposal of unsuitable excavated material, sourcing of suitable fill material, transportation, controlled filling and leveling, compaction, testing and handover in accordance with the requirements.
